I’m Bryan Schenker, the proud co-owner of Patriot Custom Construction.

Building has been a part of my and my wife’s life from a young age. Both Shanell and I grew up in families remodeling homes. As a result, we are both passionate about the design and function of our job. We also love providing clients an impactful experience during and after our project is completed!
My wife and I started Patriot Custom Construction two years ago, but we have been in the construction industry for a total of ten years. We started our professional careers in construction through our first company in the cleaning and restoration sectors. However, during that time, we slowly discovered that our passion was in the building side of our work, and so we decided to sell the company, move to the east coast, and start a construction company where we were going to raise our future kids.
In the last two years, we have worked hard to expand our systems and technologies to increase communication, expand and clarify project design, and ease the construction process. These are aspects of the business, and we will continually work to improve for years to come!
In addition to building, I also really enjoy the sales aspect of our business because it allows me to interact with new customers, help them understand our work and what it feels like to work with us!
That said, the most rewarding part of owning my own business is that my family, including my two-year-old son, gets to be a part of it. There’s something truly different about working with family. It gives me a sense of pride and encourages me to keep doing better.
Owning your own business is a grinding experience. But if you have passion, it’s almost like a hobby. For me running my own business is a fun and exciting experience. As a result, I don’t mind putting in extra effort and following a solid work ethic. Throughout my career, hard work has allowed me to build successful businesses.
Additionally, keeping things simple and holding the business to the same guiding principles as our family has helped us thrive. We also believe in maintaining honesty, integrity, accountability, and loyalty when serving our clients. These qualities add to their positive experience with us and encourage them to tell their friends about us.
When I’m not working, I like to engage in athletic activities. I particularly love all water and mountain sports. If I am not working in the Raleigh area, I am almost certainly on the coast somewhere in the summer or heading to the mountains in the winter. My wife and I love to explore this beautiful state and always look out for exciting activities to try here.
Besides the outdoors, I also love spending time with my family and providing for them. In fact, the reason why I left my full-time job was to create a business that my family could be a part of. When I build projects for my clients, my end goal is to provide for my family. At the same time, I want to ensure our clients can enjoy the end results with their own families too.
I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
